The Department of Music and Theatre at Edinboro University offers members of the Edinboro, Erie, Meadville and surrounding communities private instruction on various musical instruments and voice. If you or your child is interested in beginning or continuing music instruction, please consider the Community Music School as an option. Our professors and instructors look forward to working with you as you begin or continue your life-long association with music.

The Community Music School offers music instruction throughout the year. Among the offerings:
INTRODUCTION to SUZUKI VIOLIN for CHILDREN, ages 5+, taught by Maria Lyon, who has extensive Suzuki training and experience.
NEO-CELTIC HARP, taught by Alissa Pesavento.
BAGPIPE, taught by Allyson Crowley-Duncan
PRIVATE LESSONS for CHILDREN or ADULTS, ages 5 through adult. Available in piano, Suzuki piano, voice, guitar, mandolin, banjo, strings (viola, violin, violoncello, cello), percussion, woodwinds and brass. Select the size of your lesson package and start date to plan around vacations and travel. Some offerings are specific to location at Porreco or Edinboro campus.
Recitals for CMS students take place in Alexander Recital Hall and are held at the end of each semester.
The EU Community Music School is a fully accredited member of NASM - North American Schools of Music.
