Edinboro University Honors College
Dr. Roger Solberg
The Honors Living-Learning Floor provides a venue for high-achieving students in all majors to become friends and benefit from each other’s strengths and academic experiences. This living-learning community is located in Highlands 1.
Living-learning residence hall floors have been part of Edinboro University for over a decade. Choosing to become part of a living-learning community provides an opportunity for students to live on the same floor with others who share the same major, field of study or interest area.
Participants interact with faculty and staff outside of the classroom through programs, activities, and events and share their strong commitment to the living-learning experience.
Students who participate tend to remain at University and achieve higher grades than those who do not take advantage of this opportunity.
Each living-learning floor has at least one Scholar-in-Residence (SIR). The scholar is a student staff member who is the link between the floor and the Honors director. The scholar works with the residents to ensure that an adequate level of support and programming is available on the floor. Scholars are selected based upon their academic performance and knowledge of and participation in the sponsoring program or department, providing the best-of-the-best in support staff.
