Edinboro University’s top priority has always been our students. One way we invest in our students’ success is by awarding scholarships based on their outstanding academic performance, leadership qualities, contribution to the University community or other criteria. The best part? Unlike a loan, scholarships do not need to be repaid! Edinboro offers several scholarship categories to help best meet the needs of our students.

          Edinboro University Scholarships

Edinboro offers students a wide variety of permanently endowed scholarships. Each scholarship’s selection criteria, award amounts and availability can vary from year to year. Application/nomination requirements also vary, but all students are encouraged to first apply for financial aid by completing the FAFSA

Additionally, Edinboro automatically considers students for the following scholarships within about two weeks of their admission (no additional application is required):

President’s Excellence Scholarship Award: Entering freshman scholarship from $1,500 to $5,000 with or without test score (test score is optional for 2021) and renewable for up to four years, a value of $6,000 to $20,000 over four years.

Highlander Housing Scholarship: First consideration for non-PA residents (freshmen and transfer students), $3,000 per year, renewable for up to four consecutive years so long as the student remains full-time, is in good academic standing and lives in a University-owned residence hall. First consideration will be given to students who apply early, before the March 1 scholarship priority consideration deadline.

          Transfer Scholarships:

          • $2,000 per year for transfer students with a minimum 3.5 cumulative transfer GPA and renewable
          • $1,500 per year for transfer students with a 3.25–3.49 cumulative transfer GPA and renewable
