          Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC)

          For Those Who Serve

          Cadets in Edinboro University’s Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program learn how to lead. Our program offers students an experience where they can build skills needed for success in the military, their career and life.

          Students enrolled in the program receive instruction in the fundamentals of leadership with emphasis on self-discipline, integrity, confidence and responsibility. It’s learned both in the classroom and through practical field training exercise.

          The ROTC commissions future officer leadership in the United States Army. Upon completing the ROTC Program, students are commissioned as Second Lieutenants, promising an active career in the Armed Forces for the next twenty to thirty years.

          Edinboro’s Military Science Program is open to both male and female students who wish to earn a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. Students enrolled in the first two years of the four-year ROTC program incurs no military obligation.

          This instruction is given in the classroom, on practical field training exercises, and during the summer Army ROTC Basic Course, Army ROTC Advanced Course, Cadet Leaders Course (CLC), Cadet Initial Entry Training (CIET), Cadet Troop Leadership Training (CTLT), Northern Warfare Training Courses (NWTC) and in the Airborne and Air Assault schools.

          These training experiences enable the student to evaluate situations, make decisions, and develop those attributes essential to a leader in both the civilian and military environment.
